Larson Angus and Charolais
The Home of Working Cattle
The bull in the picture above is Western Edge . He is the sire of the Charolais bulls that
we have for sale this year. He is a polled bull that sires cattle that with great dispositions,
big nuts , good feet and leg structure , moderate birth weights and above average growth.
All of his bull calves here calved before their due date so he also seems to shorten
gestation length. The white calves were the same size as our black calves at birth . have
We got a lot of calves out of the above sire. He is the In Focus bull at
ABS and he was the most heavily used bull in AI this year for lots of
reasons. Good calving ease, great dispositions, good foot and leg
structure , easy fleshing , big nuts, and way above average growth
combined with way above average carcass scores. In short just a
pretty darn good all around bull. We will sell several sons in our sale ,
many out of first calf heifers.
The bull above is SAF Connection . We will have bulls out of him on our 2009 sale and
we bred several cows to him to calve in the spring of 2009. We used him for the
convenience traits that he brings like fertility, docility , structural soundness. We like his
calves and we think you will as well.
We bred a number of cows including some top cows to this exciting prospect , Connealy
All Around. We expect him to bring strong maternal , calving ease , decent growth and
carcass. We are looking forward to his calves next spring.
The Charolais calves born the spring of 2009 will be sired by the bull above , Assertion .
We expect him to bring scrotal size, structural soundness, eye appeal and moderate births.
We decided to try something really new when we bred two of our oldest and best cows to
the bull above . He is the 41/97 bull from New Zealand. He is 11 years old in the picture
still breeding cows in rough country , weighing 2600 lbs and has never seen corn. We hope
to raise a cleanup bull that will allow us to insert more longevity and structural soundess into
our cow herd. Jeff Ward of Sinclair Cattle Company called this bull the longest angus bull
he has ever seen and plans to breed quite a few cows to him. With todays tough economic
times the cow man needs cows that will go out and work for a living . We are hoping that
this bull bred to our better older cows will produce genetics that will get that job done for
both us and our bull buying customers. Stay tuned . We are excited about using this bull..
